(KTRE) - A First Alert Weather Day remains in place for Saturday evening and Saturday night as some heavy rain and a few thunderstorms will make an appearance in the Piney Woods of Deep East Texas.
We do not anticipate much in the way of severe weather with this particular setup. However, heavy downpours, gusty winds, and some rumbling in our East Texas skies will be likely, especially during the late night and overnight hours, when many of you will be sleeping.
With the bulk of Saturday's rain and thunderstorm activity arriving very late in the day, I am rather optimistic that Springfest Family Fun Day in downtown Lufkin and the San Augustine Texas Treasure Cultural Heritage Festival will be able to go off without too much of a hitch from Mother Nature.
Rainfall amounts with our weekend storm will average around one-to-two inches, before the rain tapers off and moves east of our area by Sunday morning.
One of the best ways to monitor the where you live this weekend is with our FREE KTRE First Alert weather app. on both your smart phone and tablet devices. You can also view our interactive radar, get hourly forecasts, and watch video updates on the go, when you want it, at your convenience, all in the palm of your hand.
