NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

One person is in custody and two at large after a Nacogdoches store was robbed at gunpoint.

Nacogdoches police say that at about 9:41 a.m. Sunday, an officer drove through the parking lot of Chevron in the 3200 block of North Street. The officer was on patrol and saw several men with masks, one carrying what appeared to be a long gun leaving the store and fleeing on foot in separate directions.

The officer radioed the situation to other officers and an alarm activation from the store was received by dispatch, the Nacogdoches Police Department says.

Officers began searching for the suspects.

One was located at an apartment complex in the 3000 block of North Pecan and taken into custody. That person was identified as Jawonn Castleberry, 18, of Nacogdoches.

Castleberry was booked into the Nacogdoches County Jail.NPD says an investigation later allowed officers to determine that three suspects entered the store, one displayed a handgun and one displayed a long gun. They demanded money and left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The investigation remains open and police say more arrests could be forthcoming.
