LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Early voting for local municipal and school board elections took place today.
One of the big topics in Lufkin was voters deciding on the $75-million bond to build another middle school and improve facilities.
Nacogdoches County Elections Administrator Todd Stallings said voter turnout was slow, but he wasn't surprised by the numbers.
"Certainly, a lot more that could vote, but it's about average for what we have for these smaller elections. Usually, the last day is going to be the biggest one," Stallings said.
Early voting will continue until Tuesday, May 1, 2018.
Election Day is on May 5, 2018.
Primary run-off voting for Nacogdoches County starts on May 15, 2018, and Election Day will be May 22, 2018.
