LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - The Angelina County Commissioners Court approved purchasing a $7,000 software from an Austin-based company. The software will help scan voter registration cards and create a digital database for the department's use.

"Going forward, when someone comes in and wants to look up something from history, if a voter comes in wants to look up their applications, we can pull that up and find it real quick and don't have to go to another warehouse where it's being stored and pull that information out for them," said Connie Brown, the election administrator for the county.

In the coming two weeks, the software will be installed. Annual maintenance costs will be $2,000.
