A Lufkin man was killed Wednesday afternoon after striking a concrete barrier.
Kenneth Bortner, 73, of Lufkin, died at CHI Memorial Center in Lufkin following the wreck that occurred around 5:45 p.m.
Bortner had just exited Frank Avenue onto Northbound Loop 287 feeder when he veered to the left and his vehicle struck a concrete barrier, according to police.
He was taken by ambulance to the hospital where he later died. An autopsy has been ordered.
It's unknown at this time what caused Bortner to veer off the road. The wreck remains under investigation at this time.
