Shelbyville native Cade Foehner makes it to top 5 on 'American Idol'

EAST TEXAS (KTRE) - Shelbyville native Cade Foehner will continue his successful run on "American Idol."

The top seven were also told on Sunday night's show that they will all go on tour this summer for the show.

The 21-year-old East Texas musician has impressed the trio of judges since his audition during the first round of the competition. On this show, Cade performed a song by Jewel, as well as a song penned by Prince, "Jungle Love," accompanied by Prince's former drummer, Sheila E.

In August he auditioned in Dallas for the show. He was selected for the Top 50 and then made it into the Top 24 with a performance of Kaleo's "No Good." He went on to show he could impress not only the judges but America, too, when he was selected for the Top 7.

Fans may associate the East Texan with the distinctive feather attached to his guitar. Foehner spoke with KTRE previously about his journey in the competition so far. You can read about his experience being on the show at the links above.
