NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - A two-vehicle wreck on Highway 21 in Nacogdoches County claimed the lives of a 45-year-old man and his 13-year-old passenger early Monday morning.
Two other people, including a 3-year-old child, were injured in the crash.
According to a press release, Texas Department of Public Safety troopers investigated the crash, which occurred at the intersection of State Highway 21 and Loop 34 at about 7:20 a.m. Monday.
The preliminary crash report shows that Thomas Williams III, of San Augustine, was driving a 1994 Nissan passenger car east on SH 21 when a westbound 2014 GMC SUV driven by Courtney Bush, 27, of Center crossed into the eastbound lane and hit the car head-on.
"Initial reports indicate the GMC was attempting to travel onto Loop 34," the press release stated.
A Nacogdoches County justice of the peace pronounced Williams and his 13-year-old passenger dead at the scene of the wreck. Bush and his 3-year-old passenger were both taken to Nacogdoches Medical Center for treatment of undisclosed injuries.
The wreck is still under investigation.
