ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Several fire departments are on the scene of a house fire in Angelina County.
The residence, located in the 2,000 block of Mill Creek Road has burned to the ground.
Officials were unsure if the homeowner was inside, however, they have learned that he is safe and was not home at the time of the fire.
Zavalla Police Chief Chris Wade was the first person on the scene. He said the house was fully engulfed when he arrived. He says ammunition inside the home caused several explosions when the house caught fire.
The home is a complete loss.
Hot spots are still present at this time.
Etoile Volunteer Fire Department, Zavalla Volunteer Fire Department, Huntington Volunteer Fire Department, Moffett Volunteer Fire Department, Angelina County Sheriff's Office, and Zavalla Police are all on scene.
