SHELBY COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

Cade Foehner's journey on 'American Idol' has come to an end, but his music career is just beginning.

Sunday night the Shelbyville native was knocked out of the competition after making it all the way to the Top 5.

The singer with the trademark long locks and decorative guitar crooned his way into America's hearts with his soulful ballads. It's been a whirlwind ride for the East Texan. Foehner previously chatted with KTRE about his experience on the show here.

Sunday night Foehner performed "Undo It" by former 'Idol' winner Carrie Underwood. Underwood visited with each of the Top 5 contestants and coached them on their performances.

Other contestants who rounded out the Top 5 include Gabby Barrett, Caleb Lee Hutchison, Maddie Pope, and Michael J. Woodard.

Sunday's performance won't be the last time viewers see Foehner on an "American Idol" stage. He's set to go on tour with other contestants later this year.
