ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Both of the southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 59 south of Diboll are now open after a pickup pulling a pickup loaded with pipes rolled over.
A viewer said it looked like the pickup was heading north when it couldn't stop in time for slowed traffic, left the road, and rolled over. The pickup and its trailer wound up in the southbound lanes of traffic.
Sgt. David Hendry, a spokesman for the Texas Department of Public Safety, said the driver of the pickup was taken by ambulance to CHI St. Luke's Memorial Hospital in Lufkin for treatment of undisclosed injuries.
DPS troopers, Diboll police officers, and Lufkin Fire and EMS personnel responded to the wreck.
Traffic on the southbound side of U.S. 59 was backed up for much of Monday afternoon. Motorists traveling through that area should expect delays.
