LIVINGSTON, TX (KTRE) - Officers with the Livingston Police Department arrested a 50-year-old Houston woman Sunday night in connection with allegations that she assaulted a disabled 67-year-old man while he sat in his vehicle.
Lorraine Lynn Manson was booked into the Polk County jail on a felony injury to a disabled/elderly individual charge. She has since been released after she posted an unspecified bail amount.
According to a press release, Livingston PD officers responded to a home in regard to a 911 call about an assault that had just occurred. When they got to the scene, they spoke to the victim. The victim told police that he went to a friend's house to return some property that had been left in his vehicle the previous day, and while he was at the residence, a woman came out and assaulted him while he sat in his vehicle.
The woman was later identified as Manson, who was still at the scene. She was found to be under the influence of alcohol, the press release stated.
"The investigation revealed that [the victim] received injuries to his forearm and head as a result of the assault and was bleeding when officers arrived on the scene," the press release stated. "Upon further investigation, it was discovered that [the victim] was a disabled elderly individual due to prior medical conditions."
Manson was arrested at the scene without incident and taken to the county jail.
