LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - An Angelina County judge has sentenced a Lufkin man to 40 years in prison in connection with allegations he had a video on his Snapchat account of him sexually assaulting a young girl.
Judge Paul White sentenced Oscar Alamillo Solis, 18, to 40 years in prison Tuesday on a charge of first-degree aggravated sexual assault of a child and 10 years on a charge of third-degree possession of child pornography. The sentences will be served concurrently.
Lufkin police arrested Solis in March 2017 after a female friend logged onto his Snapchat account and discovered videos and photos of him sexually assaulting a girl.
"A community is often judged by the manner in which it protects its most innocent and vulnerable citizens: its children," said prosecuting attorney Ken Dies. "Judge White has done exactly that in this case."
Solis had given the friend access to his Snapchat account and asked her to log in to prevent the loss of streaks he had earned in a game. The girl told police she had logged into his account and found videos and photos of Solis sexually assaulting the girl in his "memories" section.
