The Jasper Police Department has released the name of the man that was arrested in connection with a stabbing incident that occurred on 2nd Street Tuesday evening.
Paul Anthony Parks, 49, of Jasper, is still being held in the Jasper County Jail on a felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge. His bond amount has been set at $7,500.
According to a press release, Jasper Police Department Dispatch notified all units of fight in progress at about 5:40 p.m. Tuesday.
“Officers learned that what started as a verbal confrontation quickly escalated into one suspect brandishing a knife,” the press release stated. “During the altercation, Christoper Spikes was cut and stabbed with non-life-threatening injuries, and Kevin Jefferson was also stabbed and at last word is in critical condition at Christus-St. Elizabeth in Beaumont.”
Parks was arrested at the scene and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
