LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - The Woden Eagles were able to get redemption against Groveton on Friday night in Lufkin.
Last year, Groveton won their best-of-3 series in the regional final to ear a trip to the state tournament. This year however, the Eagles came out on top with a 2-0 series win. After getting shut out 10-0 in game 1, Hayden Terry kept the Indians in the game and then in the 7th Terry had the chance to be the hero. Unfortunately, Terry hit a blooper to short and the Eagles were able to get the last out of the game.
On the softball side, The Woden Lady Eagles beat Martin's Mill 6-3 in Rusk. They will now face Grapeland in the regional final this coming week. Grapeland beat Avery 13-0 tonight to earn their spot.
