One woman confirmed dead after drowning at Lake Sam Rayburn

SABINE COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

A Sabine County game warden confirmed one woman has drowned.

The drowning happened at 1 p.m. Saturday at Lake Sam Rayburn.

San Augustine Game Warden Tom Jenkins said two people were swimming in Lake Sam Rayburn at Highway 83 and San Augustine Park while another person was on a boat when a 48-year-old woman 'went under'.

Jenkins said the Pineland woman's body was recovered on Sunday at 9:30 a.m. The identity of the woman will be released when her family has been notified.
