LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - More than 300 golfers representing 150 brands took to the course on Monday at Lufkin's Crown Colony Country Club all for a good cause.
The Brookshire Brothers Charitable Foundation hosted the spring edition of its biannual golf tournament and it did not disappoint with plenty of good moments. The best moment though would be the money raised for the community.
Funds generated from the tournament fuel the Foundation - a 501(c)3 that distributed more than $107,000 in grants back in February 2018 across its market area.
According to a press release, since 2007, Brookshire Brothers has given back more than $1.1 million through the funds raised at its golf tournaments. Vendors appreciate the opportunity to network with their colleagues while raising money for so many worthy causes in the areas of education, hunger, health and the arts.
