GROVETON, TX (KTRE) - Despite being a multi-sport athlete in Groveton, senior Haden Terry is choosing his first love for college sports.
On Thursday afternoon, Terry signed with LSU-Alexandria out of the NAIA Red River Athletic Conference.
"I have dreamed of this since the day I started playing. To get this done just lifts a burden," Terry said.
As a freshman, Terry received Newcomer of the Year honors. As a sophomore and junior he received 1st team All-District honors as a pitcher. His senior honors have not been announced yet. Terry's Indians came up short of another magical run to the state tournament this year but the memories of the 2017 season will never leave him.
"They are some of the best memories I will have the rest of my life," Terry said. "It wasn't about the games that we payed. It was about the bond we had. I will remember it the rest of my life."
Terry said he plans on doing premed in college. He is looking just to play any of the positions on the field but hopes to be on the infield and the pitcher's mound.
