Ebony Gardner may not be a name everyone is familiar with but she played a vital role with the Lufkin athletic department.
Gardner was a trainer for all of the Panther sports. She was good enough to get the attention of Kilgore Junior College, where she will go next and help out with in the same capacity as she did in Lufkin.
"I have always loved sports," Gardner said. "I might not have been able to play sports but I was able to be involved and be at all the games."
Gardener is planning on studying radiology while in school.
"This is a great opportunity for her," head Lufkin trainer Alex Nelson said. "Going to a junior college allows her to do more stuff. If she went to a bigger school, they would have grad assistants or even multiple paid trainers. She will now be able to do what she loved doing."
