ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Law enforcement officers are asking for help catching a "crook" who they say cut a hole in the wall of a Family Dollar and gathered air fresheners, cigarettes and a trash bag full of other items.
Crime Stoppers posted about the incident Friday, saying the burglary occurred at 1:30 a.m. Thursday at the Family Dollar on Highway 69 North in Angelina County, just north of Lufkin.
"Shortly after entering, they disabled the security cameras but the video we have shows that the burglar wore work gloves and used dark clothing to conceal their identity. The hole in the wall was small, about one square foot, so the crook isn't a large person," the organization said in a social media post.
Items stolen include batteries, cigarettes and tobacco products. Crime Stoppers says the suspect also filled a trash can and garbage bags with drinks, shaving products, room deodorizers and other household items but then left them behind.
The organization says the suspect also attempted and failed to open the store's safe.
