2nd person dies after two-vehicle wreck on US 59 near Corrigan on May 4

POLK COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - A second person died as a result of a two-vehicle wreck that occurred on U.S. Highway 59 about two miles north of Corrigan on May 4.

Sgt. David Hendry with the Texas Department of Public Safety said Friday that Larece Perry, 44, of Cold Spring died at ETMC Tyler on May 19. Jeremy Jones, 36, of Houston, died at the scene of the wreck.

The preliminary crash investigation indicates that a 2003 Ford pickup, driven by Javan Bluford, 20, of San Augustine, was traveling north on US 59. The pickup reportedly hydroplaned and slid through the grass median and struck a southbound 2013 Hyundai passenger car, driven by Perry.

Bluford was taken to CHI St. Luke's Health Memorial Hospital in Livingston for treatment of undisclosed injuries.

Jones was a passenger in Perry's car.
