NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Investigators with the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office arrested a 61-year-old parolee Sunday in connection with allegations that he sexually assaulted a young woman.
Juan Iniguez, of Nacogdoches, is still being held in the Nacogdoches County jail on a second-degree felony sexual assault charge. His bail amount has been set at $50,000.
According to a press release, the investigation started on Sunday morning when an outcry was made at the sheriff's office. The investigation revealed that Iniguez was intoxicated when he entered the room where the victim was sleeping and started sexually assaulting her, the press release stated.
"A forensic interview and a SANE exam were conducted on the victim at Harold's House in Nacogdoches Sunday," the press release stated. "Enough evidence was gathered, and a warrant was issued for the suspect."
Iniguez on parole for charges of driving while intoxicated when the alleged sexual assault occurred, the press release stated.
