LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

A Lufkin teenager has died following a weekend wreck.

Slayton Willis, 16, of Lufkin died Sunday at a Tyler hospital from injuries received in a Saturday morning crash, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

One other person, Dillon Grady, 17, was injured in the wreck.

About 7:15 a.m. Saturday, DPS troopers responded to the one-vehicle crash which occurred on FM 2021, about half a mile west of FM 2251.

A preliminary crash report shows Willis was driving a 2002 Chevrolet SUV and traveling east on FM 2021 when the vehicle left the right side of the roadway and overturned, ejecting the driver.

Willis and Grady were transported to separate hospitals. Willis later died from his injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
