ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - The Texas Rangers arrested a Zavalla man Thursday in connection to allegations that he tried to poison a friend of his estranged girlfriend.
Michael Doyle Favors, 40, is still being held in the Angelina County jail on a second-degree felony attempted murder charge. His bond amount has been set at $10,000.
According to a press release from the Texas Department of Public Safety, tried to poison a friend of his estranged girlfriend by putting a toxic substance in beer the man was likely to consume.
"On June 9, the intended victim reportedly ingested a small amount of the beer before noticing a granular consistency and stopped consuming the beverage," the press release stated. 'Investigators recovered evidence that supported the elements of the crime of attempted murder."
The alleged crime is still under investigation at this time.
