Explosive devices found, removed in Killeen neighborhood

KILLEEN, TX (KXXV) -

Suspected explosive devices were detected and removed in Killeen on Wednesday.

According to Killeen Police, they received a call around 2:32 p.m. from a Bell County Constable on the 4400 block of Maggie Drive. Constables told police they were in the area for a civil process when they were notified of devices from a witness.

Officers arrived and secured the scene. Surrounding residences were evacuated.

The Fort Hood EOD team was called to assist, and they cleared and removed devices from the scene, according to Killeen Police. 

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and explosives was there to assist as well. 

Residents are expected to return to their homes within the hour.
