LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - All lanes of Lufkin's Denman Avenue are now open again after a business' box truck rolled away from a gas station, hit a light pole, and then crashed into a car Thursday afternoon.
No one was injured in the incident.
Jessica Pebsworth, a spokeswoman for the Lufkin Police Department, said a Security Shredding truck that was stopped at a gas station wasn't left in park. The box truck rolled across the street, struck a light pole, and then crashed into a car near the intersection of Denman Avenue and Joyce Lane.
Pebsworth said Lufkin police and fire personnel, Texas Department of Transportation workers and Consolidated Communications employees are at the scene. She said it may be a while before the wreck is cleared.
Going toward Huntington, traffic is backed up in both directions, Pebsworth said.
Rhonda Oaks, a spokeswoman for the Texas Department of Transportation, said in an update that was sent out at 2:29 p.m. Thursday that all lanes of Denman Avenue/U.S highway 69 are now open again.
'Utility crews continue to work in the area," Oaks said. "Stay alert and drive safely."
