DPS: Driver hospitalized after rig overturns north of Chireno

NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - The driver of a semi-trailer has been transported to the hospital after the vehicle overturned Thursday morning in Nacogdoches County.

The crash occurred about 5:45 a.m. on FM 95, about two miles north of Highway 21 and Chireno, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The driver, identified as James Hill, 22, of Nacogdoches, was transported to Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital for treatment.

According to a preliminary DPS crash report, Hill was driving a 2016 Kenworth semi-trailer and traveling south on FM 95 when he reportedly drove off the roadway and overturned.

Rhonda Oaks, a spokeswoman for the Texas Department of Transportation, sent out an alert at about 4 p.m. Thursday that said the wreck has been cleared from FM 95. She added that the roadway is clear and open for travel.

"Drive safely," Oaks said.

According to a DPS spokesperson,  the crash remains under investigation.
