The SFA Lumberjacks have picked up their second power 5 matchups for the 2018-19 season.
Baylor University announced on Twitter Thursday morning that they would be hosting the Southland Conference Tournament Champions on December 18.
"We haven't had a great history over there but it will be fun," SFA Head Coach Kyle Keller said. "Scot Drew has done a phenomenal job with that program. He took over when they couldn't even play for a semester. He brought them from where they were irrelevant. That is the best conference in basketball right now and that team goes against the best out there. It is an honor to play them. It is great that we will be close enough that our fans can travel."
Baylor was 19-15 on the 2017-18 campaign. The Bears season ended when they lost at home to Mississippi State in the NIT. SFA went 28-7 last year, losing to Texas Tech 70-60 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Dallas.
Besides Baylor, as of today, SFA will have one more major program on the schedule. Twelve days after traveling to Waco, SFA will host Alabama out of the SEC.Copyright 2018 KTRE. All rights reserved.
