Carla Redfield makes her debut on the Lamp-Lite stage as Marks.
NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -
A snake charmer with a real snake, a rodeo performer, and a twirler are just a few of the eclectic characters portrayed in the latest Lamp-Lite Players production.
The play is called, "Talking With... ." It's a collection of monologues featuring 10 women who reveal their secrets.
Actress Cynthia Hughes portrays Scraps.
"She's a woman who goes to Oz because Oz is her happy place. She is a typical stay-at-home mom of the 70s, late 70s, early 80s, and she is just bored out of her mind. And this is how she deals with her boredom.She has quite an imagination," Hughes explained.
Carla Redfield portrays another woman facing a life-changing event.
"My character is Marks. After 15 years of marriage, her husband leaves her. From there, she begins a whole new life. Going out to bars and other places that might not be good, and she begins a whole new life through that experience."
Director Sarah McMullen said, "'Talking With...' is great for all audiences, but particularly women."
"Talking With..." is performed for one weekend only. Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Lamp-Lite Theater located at Old Tyler Road and Loop 224.
