LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - The Lufkin Police Department has released the name of the 45-year-old man who died as a result of injuries he suffered in a car-motorcycle crash that occurred on Atkinson Drive Tuesday.

Jessica Pebsworth, a spokeswoman for the Lufkin Police Department, said that the motorcycle driver has been identified as Jaime Gray. He died at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston on Wednesday.

The motor-cycle car wreck occurred in the 2200 block of Atkinson Drive at about 5:55 p.m. Tuesday, according to Pebsworth.

The wreck occurred when Crystal Tovar pulled out of her driveway on Atkinson Drive in a Dodge Challenger and drove into the path of a westbound motorcycle, Pebsworth said.

Gray was taken to CHI St. Luke's Health Memorial Hospital in Lufkin for treatment of serious injuries.

Pebsworth said the motorcycle driver was later airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston for treatment of his injuries.

Tovar was cited for failure to yield the right of way from a private drive and no insurance. She was not physically injured in the crash, Pebsworth said.

The crash remains under investigation.
