LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - A Crowley man is in jail following a Lufkin police chase which ended with a car in a house early Wednesday.

Brandon Lee Light, 30, was arrested on charges of evading arrest and unauthorized use of a vehicle. He is also being charged with Parker County charges of delivery of a controlled substance and tampering with evidence.

According to the police report, Light stole the car at Sun-N-Pines Motel, located at 200 South Timberland Drive. A woman said she was leaving the motel when Light, who she knew, took the keys out of the ignition. She said she then got out of the car and began walking away when Light yanked the purse from her and left in the car.

As officers arrived on scene, Light pulled back into the parking lot but then took off north on Timberland Drive.

The report states the chase ended a short time later when Light crashed into a house and vehicle at the corner of Clark Avenue and Bowles Street.

The woman said she did not want to press charges, but her husband said he did.
