Emergency Operations Center Busy Answering Questions

The Emeregency Operations Center in Lufkin have had some busy phone lines.  Local residents and evacuees want to know many things like when the electricity will be restored.

Other questions  include where people can get gasoline and food , as well as when schools and roads will reopen.  Lee Miller at the EOC said that priorities include "getting fuel for cars so that folks can get on the road, getting those roadways open also so that folks can go south and alos to geed people is a big priority."

He also told us that the water issues in Lufkin are a priority as well.  Local residents are asked to use water only for drinking and sanitation needs.  He says some wells are still on generators and they need to keep water supplies full in case of emergencies.
