Waiting For Gas

Residents of Beaumont, Port Arthur and Orange are being told to stay where you are and not return home just yet. Water and sewer services aren't up and running there. Some motorists ignored that warning. April Trahan had evacuated from Beaumont to Marshall and decided to go back home. She found an unguarded road back into the city, but had to leave.

"There's no water, no electricity, there's nothing...and from Beaumont to here there's no gas pumps, no store, nobody's open and we ran out of gas and we slept at the high school last night and we'll try to stay in Lufkin tonight," Trahan said.

Congressman Kevin Brady surveyed damage to his East Texas district by helicopter today. He says Orange, "took a big hit, in a big way," with heavy damage to homes and commercial buildings and a good part of the Sabine River city being under water.
