U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, will be in Tyler, Houston and Beaumont and TODAY, September 26, 2005. Cornyn, who has received briefings and updates
at the state’s Emergency Operations Center in Austin over the past two days, will meet with local first responders, tour operations centers and receive
updated local briefings on each area’s current needs in order to more effectively continue assisting with federal coordination.
From 9-11 a.m., Cornyn will tour the TranStar Center EOC in Houston, meet with Judge Eckels and Mayor White for briefings, and join local leaders for
a press availability at 10 a.m.
From 12:20 to 1:50, he will visit the Beaumont EOC and staging area, Entergy Gulf States building. He will receive briefings on the local situation and
current needs, and meet with county and city officials.
From 3:00-4:30, he will tour the Tyler/Smith County EOC, East Texas Medical Center and meet with emergency management leaders.
