HUDSON, TX (KTRE) - Officers with the Hudson Police Department arrested a 42-year-old man on Sept. 7 in connection to allegations that he forced his way into a home on Travis Jordon Street and sexually assaulted someone.

Manuel Angel Soto, of Lufkin, was booked into the Angelina County County Jail on two felony charges and one misdemeanor charge - burglary with the intent to commit assault, sexual assault, and one misdemeanor. He has since posted bail on a collective bond amount of $19,000 and has been released from the jail.

According to a press release East Texas News received Wednesday, a Hudson PD lieutenant was dispatched to the home on Travis Jordon Street to check out a report of a possible sexual assault.

After the HPD lieutenant conducted an investigation into the allegations, he found that Soto had entered the home and sexually assaulted someone inside.

The press release didn't have information about the victim's gender or age.

"The front door to the residence appeared to have been forced open by the suspect," the press release stated.

While the Hudson PD officers were trying to take Soto into custody, he resisted them, the press release stated. Eventually, the officers were able to put handcuffs on Soto, and they took him to the county jail.
