American Red Cross Visits Local Shelters

by Ramonica R. Jones

National representatives from the American Red Cross are in East Texas this week. They're here to help evacuees find housing and make sure area shelters have enough supplies to continue taking care of storm victims.

Right now, Lufkin shelters are full, but there may be some other options available.

Spokesperson Linnea Anderson said, "The Red Cross is here to make sure that nothing runs out, that we have enough food to take care of the people who are needing it. We have been feeding people and we're planning even more feeding operations."

Thousands of evacuees are still living in Lufkin shelters.
