They Can't Go To Lunch, So Lunch Goes To Them

by Ramonica R. Jones

You've heard of a 'special delivery,' we met a Lufkin woman who brings a whole new meaning to the phrase.

Minnie Jones works at TXU Electric Delivery. Since the storm hit last weekend, she's been delivering meals, snacks, and cold drinks to her co-workers, and electric crews working to restore power in the area.

Many of the workers spend all day and night outdoors repairing downed power lines and other electrical problems.

Jones said, "The way I feel, I can't climb the poles and help get the customers' lights turned back on, at least I can make sure my co-workers are fed, so it's the least I can do."

Jones delivers between 50 and 100 hot meals a day to TXU workers. She wakes up at 5:00 a.m. every morning to make sure they also get breakfast.
