Families Line Up For Food And Supplies

About 300 families lined up at a Lufkin church Wednesday. They were mainly storm victims who lost food in power outages during Rita.

The New Life Worship Center gave away dozens of boxes of food and supplies for each family. The donations came from "Feed the Children" - a worldwide ministry dedicated to helping the less fortunate.

Pastor Tony Holder said, "Each family receives a box of food that will last them one week and a box of personal care items such as toilet paper, toothpaste, shampoo, soap, those kind of items."

The New Life Worship Center is part of an internationally known organization called Church on the Rock. The group bought eight truckloads of food to help families with food and household items.
