Flu Vaccine Arriving

The best way to prevent the flu is to get vaccinated each fall. That advice comes from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Shipments of flu vaccine are arriving this week in East Texas.

Kroger pharmacies in Nacogdoches will have flu clinics Thursday and Friday. And the East Texas Community Health Clinic is expecting its first shipment of the vaccine any day now. High risk individuals will be served first explained director Robin Moore. "Folks over 65. We're hoping to get something set up with the senior center for the next week to ten days because that's a high risk group from age. Other high risk groups include folks with asthma, diabetes."

October or November are the best times to get vaccinated. The CDC reports a low level of influenza activity last week in the United States.
