The annual VFW Fall Festival kicked off Wednesday in Lufkin.
The festival is a couple weeks behind schedule because of Hurricane Rita. Games, rides, and festival food are just some of the fun things you can expect this year.
For 35 years, the carnival has been part of a huge fundraiser in Lufkin. The festival continues through Sunday. Tickets are just $10.
Wynona Jones, junior vice president of the Ladies Auxiliary-Post 1836, said, "It's a good thing to do. It's fun and it's a fundraiser for our area, our Ladies Auxiliary, and the VFW. It benefits our local veterans."
The event is being held at the VFW Post on Ford Chapel Road in Lufkin.
