Apartment Fire In Nacogdoches Leaves Some Residents Without A Home

by Larry Little

Authorities are investigating an apartment fire that left several families without a home Sunday night. It happened just after three o'clock Sunday afternoon in the 3000 block of Pecan Street at the Hampton Place apartments in Nacogdoches.

< P> Authorities say the fire started in one unit and quickly spread to other units. Thankfully no one was injured, but the fire was a challenge for fire fighters.

"At one time we thought we were going to loose the building. Nobody was inside, none of our guys were injured, just the way we like it." says Robert Templin with the Nacogdoches Fire Department.

Six units received fire, smoke and water damage. Authorities are investigating what caused the blaze.
