Arrests Made In Homicide Case

An update on the death of a man over the weekend near Cushing. Three arrests have been made in the case of the homicide of James Kelly. Three juveniles have been arrested in connection with the shooting. They are two 15 year olds and one 16 year old. One of the juveniles is Kelly's stepdaughter. Authorities tell us more arrests could be coming.

Kelly was shot in the head apparently as he slept. He was found by his step father Sunday morning. Kelly owned a trucking business and had been working until three in the morning on a truck.

Nacogdoches County Sheriff Thomas Kerss said Kelly had gotten in trouble as a young man, but after leaving prison changed his ways. He worked in a trucking business and was on the road a lot.

The shooting happened at Kelly's residence a short distance down 'County Road 971 off 'Highway 204.
