Meth Murder Trial Starts In Lufkin

The trial for an East Texas couple accused of killing a teenage girl started Tuesday in Lufkin.

An investigator told jurors Johnny Lee's statement contradicts the evidence. Lee reportedly said he woke one morning in May of 2003 and found his stepdaughter lying underneath a truck in the driveway.

He told authorities he dragged Candice Alexander from underneath the truck, took her inside, and tried to do CPR on her.

But the investigator testified he found the girl lying on the living room floor extremely dirty, covered in bruises, and showing signs she'd had a struggle with someone.

The trial continues Wednesday morning.
