During Tuesday's Nacogdoches city commissioner's meeting, the issue involving commissioner Mary Cartwright and $1,400 the city claimed she owed.
City manager Jim Jeffers says Cartwright received an insurance check for $5,000 after falling during a business trip in 2002.
She was given a year to pay back $1,400 to the city. However, in a three to two vote, the commissioners have agreed not to pursue the matter any further.
"[The] city commission had been discussing the issue, I guess, for over a year, and had decided that it wasn't worth pursuing any further and, once, again on the three to two vote," said Nacogdoches city manager Jem Jeffers.
Many citizens showed up at the meeting in support of commissioner Cartwright.
