NASA Says Thank You

NASA wants to say thank you to all the communities who helped with the Columbia recovery effort. NASA leaders and astronauts will visit Hemphill, Nacogdoches, Lufkin, Palestine, and Corsicana. They'll host community-wide barbeque dinners as a way to share the return of shuttle flights.

Nacogdoches Exposition Center Director Bill Plunkett is helping with the plans. "They've had a successful flight, and everything went better than what they had planned. And whether the folks around East Texas know it or not, they played a part in that. Because of recovering material, they were able to find out what faults they had on the last flight, and this time, they were able to recover from that and have a successful flight and they're saying thank you for everything we did."
