East Texas Remembers Rosa Parks

by Larry Little

Civil Rights pioneer Rosa Parks was laid to rest Wednesday.

Hundreds gathered to pay their last respects to Parks in Detroit. Parks died last week.

Here in East Texas, the U.S. and Texas flags flew at half staff in honor of Parks, and many folks spent the day remembering her courage and bravery.

"I think people can look at her. She was one person who made a difference. People can look at her, they can do the same thing, stand up and make a difference, too," says East Texan Tammy Sims.

Rosa Parks was 92 years old.
