A 15-year-old boy accused of killing his little sister won't be tried as an adult after all.
An adult certification hearing for the suspect was postponed because of Hurricane Rita. Now, it's been canceled.
The Polk County district attorney will present the case to the grand jury later this month. He said the teen would likely get probation if he's tried as an adult.
Detectives said the boy shot and killed his own sister, 13-year-old Frankee McCarty, earlier this year in Leggett. He's charged with murder, injury to a child, and tampering with physical evidence.
