Alleged Car Burglars Caught In The Act

by Ramonica R. Jones

Four suspected car burglars from Livingston are in jail. Police caught them in the act.

A man who lives on Butler Street in Lufkin heard a noise and went outside to check it out. That's when he saw a man in his driveway, standing beside his car. The man who owns the car called police, but they couldn't find the guy. They did find his three accomplices, equipped with walkie talkies, standing beside other cars on the same street.

Twenty-one year-old Aaron Colbert, 24-year-old Michael Hogg, 21-year-old Patrick McIntyre, and 19-year-old Jacob Richardson are charged with engaging in organized criminal activity.

Investigators believe they targeted unlocked cars and stole everything from swords to baseball caps to radios. They're believed to have committed at least five burglaries in Lufkin and even more in Nacogdoches.
