Veterans' Day Parade Planned

Saturday in Nacogdoches scouts to elected officials will participate in the annual Veterans' Day parade. There's significant participation. Veterans, military trucks, youth groups and marching bands take part. This always pleases the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Department, the parade's primary sponsor.

Sheriff Thomas Kerss said, "I think we owe a tremendous debt to our veterans for the sacrifices they've made to keep our country safe and help us to enjoy freedom we typically take for granted day in and day out."

The Veterans' Day parade begins at 11:00 Saturday morning. It will take the traditional parade route through downtown Nacogdoches.

Afterwards, Sheriff Kerss will personally hand out free sheriff's department badges to any scout that's in the parade.
