TxDOT is teaming up with Goodwill and Angelina Beautiful/Clean for Texas Recycles Day. This year's theme is Growing Recycling in Texas.
The Reuse Roundup encourages Texans to clean out their closets, garages, and storage sheds and donate what they no longer need to charity.
Starting at 7:00 a.m. Tuesday, you can bring clean, reusable goods to TxDOT's district office. All donations will help replenish local Goodwill stores after hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
Shelley Luna, TxDOT's district recycling coordinator, said, "We're looking for gently used clothes, toys, household goods, small appliances, computers, shoes - anything like that - that can be reused. We're not taking tires or paint or anything that has to be disposed of."
All donations must be operational and in reusable condition. Other items that will not be accepted include hazardous household wastes like antifreeze and radioactive material.
