The Downtown Lufkin Street Renovation Project is complete, and city leaders had a big celebration to show it off.
It took months to resurface the streets and replace sidewalks with new wheelchair accessible sidewalks. There are also new old-world style street lights, banners, and benches.
There was live music at Tuesday's open house ceremony. Main Street Lufkin even unveiled a new street clock in Cotton Square Park.
The downtown renovation project was funded by grants and local contributions.
